My piece is a vase that has a spiky surface, yet a smooth bottom. I wanted to make it so that if it was not handled properly and with care, the vase would poke the person. I chose to use this as a metaphor to explain the consequences for not treating something, even as insignificant as a vase, with respect.
If I had to change something, it would be the shape of the second sketch. I didn't draw out the dimensions correctly so it more or less just looks like a squished version of the first sketch. I also wish I could've had I pencil to o the sketches with.
I am most proud of the shading I did on the texture sketch. It was hard to recreate that shading on the actual sketch of the vase, but the texture sketch helps show the dimensions of the spikes more.
I enjoy making the textures. It allows me to get different ideas down. It is kind of like doodling, so it fun!
